Privacy Policy

Overview

Repétude is designed with a privacy-first approach. All your practice data—exercises, routines, session logs, and recordings—stays on your device. I only collect minimal, anonymous usage data to understand how the app is used and where it can be improved. I never have access to your personal practice information.

Data I Collect

Repétude stores the following data locally on your device:

  • Exercise information (names, BPM settings, notes, categories)
  • Routine configurations
  • Practice session logs (duration, date, BPM, focus area, notes)
  • Audio recordings of practice sessions (if you use the recording feature)
  • PDF attachments (sheet music you add)
  • App preferences and settings

Microphone Access

Repétude requests microphone access for two features:

  • Tuner: Audio is processed in real-time to detect pitch. No audio is recorded or stored.
  • Practice Recording: If you choose to record a session, the audio is saved locally on your device and attached to your practice log.

All audio processing happens locally on your device. I do not have access to any audio data.

Data Storage

All your data is stored locally on your device. I do not have access to this data and it never leaves your device unless you enable iCloud backup.

iCloud Backup

If you enable iCloud backup, your data is synced through Apple's iCloud service. This is handled entirely by Apple and is subject to Apple's privacy policy. I do not have access to your iCloud data.

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies: This website does not use cookies or tracking technologies.

Amplitude (App): The Repétude iOS app uses Amplitude to collect anonymous usage data that helps me understand how the app is used and where it can be improved. This includes general usage patterns such as which screens are viewed and which features are used. No personal information, practice data, audio recordings, or other identifiable information is collected. Collected events are not linked to your Apple ID, name, or email.

Opt-out: You can disable analytics collection at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy. When opted out, no analytics events will be sent.

Third-Party Services

I do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. The following third-party services are used:

  • Amplitude: Anonymous app analytics (see Cookies and Analytics section above)
  • Firebase Hosting: This website is hosted on Firebase (Google Cloud). No personal data is processed beyond standard server logs.
  • Apple App Store: Subscription and payment processing. I do not have access to your payment details.
  • Apple iCloud: Optional backup sync (see iCloud Backup section above)

No Account Required

Repétude does not require you to create an account. You can use all features without providing any personal information.

Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:

  • Access: View all your data directly in the app
  • Rectification: Edit your data directly in the app
  • Erasure: Delete individual items in the app, or delete all data by uninstalling
  • Data Portability: Currently not supported. Your data is stored locally and synced via iCloud for backup purposes only.
  • Withdraw Consent: You can opt out of anonymous analytics collection at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy

Since your app data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe your data protection rights have been violated.

Data Retention

Your data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. iCloud backups are retained according to your iCloud settings and Apple's retention policies.

How to Delete Your Data

To delete all your Repétude data:

  1. Uninstall Repétude from your device
  2. If you used iCloud backup, go to Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage and delete Repétude data

Your data will be permanently removed with no backup retained by me.

Children's Privacy

Repétude is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact me.

Changes to This Policy

I may update this privacy policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through an app update or notice within the app. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
